Coming from a large business, we learned that to be successful as a small, we must have the resources, trusted advisors, and partners to lean on when we need help. The U.S. Small Business Association (SBA) has been instrumental in providing resources to small businesses. From counseling the owners to supplying templates, formalizing mentoring relationships, and aligning companies like Avyance with opportunities, the SBA helps us succeed in today’s marketplace.
It also levels the playing field by granting distinctions such as Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB) and championing the SBA 8(a) Business Development Program. Without these special designations, smalls would have a harder time competing with their larger counterparts. We are excited to share that in February 2020, we completed and submitted our application to SBA 8(a) program. We were honored to have our PilieroMazza legal team guide us along the way. We are not in the program yet, but we are looking forward to hearing the SBA’s decision. And as always, we’re grateful for the help of our partners!
